a) They handle multiple lines the same way as single line, the result is ,if you have 20 components of the same value, they get spread over few lines when imported into a word processor , or a spread sheet application, this forces you to do a LOT of work to rectify this action and cutting from cell to another..

b) The File Heading has no comma separation and gets mixed with the rest of data also it may not contain all information you need.
Now, with IvBom, Here is what happens when you process a file..

• IvBom opens the .BOM file, creates a backup copy of the schematic file.
  Opens the schematic backup file (NOT the original one).


• Search the Backup Schematic file for the "Title Block"
  If found, it retrieved the Title of the design and add it to your BOM output File, also reads the very important "Last Modified Date" "and Revision No:", both are added to your output file headding.
  Now your customer can refer to the proper Design he has, not just one of a series of revisions and updates.
• If not found, IvBom alerts you of the missing "Title Block" and gives you the ability to add a title, but we suggest that you go ahead and add it to your design, then generate another .BOM file and process it..
• After the heading is generated, the rest of the BOM file is parsed, if a single component value is referenced over several lines, those lines are combined in a single long line so they all fall into ONE SINGLE CELL of your word processor or spread sheet.
• Each group of similar components (R1,R5,...) are given a title (optional) like resistors, and Capacitors for "Cxxx" etc... , Now it easier for your client to look into one group.
  Each group can be in a separate table, and a header can be automatically added to it by IvBom if you like.
• The group of similar component (e.g.Resistor) are sorted by "Reference" to ease searching for a particular component in hundreds. e.g. if you want to locate "R35" and you do not know its value, then you would look in the first entry, if "R36" or higher is found then skip this group.
  Now just look in the first component, if it is higher than "R35" you know "R35" will be in the previous group, You do Not need to go through the group.
• Each Page can have the same heading (optional) which of coarse is gathered from your original .BOM File.
• The file then is saves to a file extension of your choice and you can copy it to a different name with different extensions to suit your various applications
